Sibona Grappa Riserva Speciale Botti da Porto "Single Barrel" Limited Edition
BEST GRAPPA IN THE WORLD. NOT OUR WORDS — THE IWSC'S.
In 2016, Sibona's Grappa Riserva in Botti da Porto was named Best Grappa in the World at the IWSC in London — and this is their answer to that moment: a single, hand-selected Port barrel, chosen by their master distillers for exceptional aromatic intensity, bottled as a limited edition with nothing blended in and nothing held back.
The same Nebbiolo marc. The same copper pot stills. The same Piedmontese distillery that has held licence number one since 1900. But here, aged for eight years in wood — six of them inside a single ex-Port barrel that had previously held whisky — and bottled only when the distillers were satisfied that it had become something genuinely extraordinary.
It had.
Tasting Notes
Deep amber. The nose is complex and enveloping — dried fruit, vanilla, sweet spice and a quiet suggestion of dark chocolate. The palate is full, rich and deeply layered, with a finish of remarkable persistence that speaks to every one of those eight years in wood.
