COGNAC WITHOUT
THE COVER-Up

EXCEPTIONALLY OLD EAUX-DE-VIE. NO SUGAR. NO CARAMEL. NOTHING TO HIDE.

from cellar to back of bar

Audry gives bartenders a credible alternative to the familiar Cognac names: independent, family-owned and backed by mature liquid that immediately justifies its place on the back bar.

The age progression makes the range easy to introduce and rewarding to explore. Napoléon and XO offer generous entry points, Réserve Spéciale adds greater maturity, and Mémorial, Exception and Réserve Aristide create genuinely rare opportunities for premium pours, tasting flights and digestif service.

Its additive-free approach also matters to modern drinkers. When customers ask what gives a Cognac its sweetness, colour or texture, the answer with Audry is refreshingly simple: fruit, oak, blending and time.

For cocktails and contemporary serves, ART Audry brings the house’s character into the modern bar. For neat pours, the Timeless collection offers a journey from 15 years to more than 50, with a difference customers can understand and taste.

Nothing added. Nothing disguised. Just Cognac with time on its side.

We are proud to partner with Maison Audry, an independent family Cognac house founded in 1878 and now led by its fifth generation.

Audry holds an extraordinary collection of mature eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. Its Timeless range begins with Cognacs aged between 15 and 18 years and extends to blends containing eaux-de-vie aged for more than half a century.

There is no added sugar, no caramel colouring and no additives. The Cognacs are only lightly filtered, allowing their natural colour, texture and aromatic character to remain intact.

Old Cognac is impressive.

Old Cognac with nothing to hide is considerably more interesting.

WHY WE CHOSE audry

We look for independent producers with exceptional liquid, genuine provenance and a point of difference that matters once the bottle is open.

Audry delivers all three.

The house has spent almost 150 years building a remarkable library of mature Cognac. Napoléon contains eaux-de-vie aged between 15 and 18 years. XO reaches 18 to 20 years, while Réserve Spéciale moves into 25 to 30 years. Mémorial, Exception and Réserve Aristide draw on stocks aged across four, five and even six decades.

Yet Audry’s character is not defined by age alone.

These Cognacs retain remarkable fruit, freshness and energy. Flowers, citrus and orchard fruit evolve into honey, spice, old oak, tobacco, coffee, cocoa and rancio as the range progresses. They have the depth expected from extended ageing without becoming heavy, tired or overwhelmed by wood.

The transparency behind the liquid is equally important. Audry does not use sugar to soften it, caramel to deepen its colour or additives to manufacture an impression of maturity. Reduction is kept to a minimum and encouraged to happen naturally, while light filtration preserves aroma and texture.

That combination of age, honesty and drinkability makes Audry highly unusual—and exactly the kind of house we want in our portfolio.

A HOUSE PAUSED.‍ ‍
THE COGNAC DIDN’T

Maison Audry was established in 1878 by Auguste Edmond Audry, whose precision in double distillation and blending quickly earned the house recognition beyond France.

Successive generations continued his work, establishing their own cellar and laboratory in 1905. But when Henri Audry died in 1955, his son Bernard was too young to take over and production stopped.

The family kept its reserves.

For almost 30 years, the business remained quiet while its eaux-de-vie continued to develop in the cellar. When Bernard and his wife Michelle revived Maison Audry in 1984, they inherited Cognacs transformed by decades of additional ageing.

Today, fifth-generation family members Anne and Renaud are carrying that legacy forward. They are preserving the mature stocks and traditional house style that make Audry distinctive while bringing fresh energy, new expressions and a less formal approach to the category.

It is a rare history, but more importantly, it has left Audry with something few houses can reproduce: a deep reserve of genuinely old Cognac with a clear connection between generations.

nothing added.
plenty going on

Audry’s Timeless Cognacs are made exclusively with eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, two crus known for producing elegant, structured spirits capable of extended ageing.

Every expression contains at least 50% Grande Champagne. Mémorial and Exception increase that proportion to 60%, while Réserve Aristide is made entirely from Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie aged for more than 50 years.

At the beginning of maturation, the eaux-de-vie spend a short period in new oak to develop structure without losing their natural aromatics. They are then transferred to older barrels and aged in humid cellars, encouraging roundness and the gradual development of rancio.

The blends combine eaux-de-vie distilled both with and without lees, giving the cellar master a broader palette of texture, finesse and aromatic intensity. Higher bottling strengths and minimal reduction help preserve their concentration and allow the aromas to present themselves more clearly.

The final intervention is deliberately restrained: no sugar, no caramel, no additives and only light filtration.

The colour has come from the barrel. The complexity has come from ageing. The balance has come from blending. Everything in the glass has earned its place.
