PORT

WITH ITS COLLAR UNDONE

FIVE GENERATIONS IN THE DOURO. Quevedo takes Port seriously.

We are proud to be the exclusive representative of Quevedo, an independent family producer with five generations of winemaking behind it and deep roots in Portugal’s Douro Valley. From fresh white Ports and fruit-driven rubies to aged tawnies, LBVs and Vintage Ports, Quevedo brings quality, character and a refreshingly open approach to one of wine’s most historic categories.

WHY WE CHOSE quevedo

We look for producers with genuine provenance, exceptional wines and something distinctive to offer the modern bar. Quevedo has all three.

The family cultivates its own vineyards, makes and bottles its wines in the Douro and remains closely involved at every stage. There is real substance behind the name, but none of the formality that can sometimes make Port feel more complicated—or more distant—than it needs to be.

Quevedo takes Port seriously. It simply sees no reason to be solemn about it.

That outlook makes the producer a natural fit for our portfolio. Its Ports have the depth and authenticity to satisfy established enthusiasts while remaining approachable enough for someone discovering the category for the first time. The range also gives bartenders plenty to work with, from white Port and tonic and lighter aperitif-style drinks to aged tawnies, food pairings and after-dinner pours.

Our exclusive partnership allows us to introduce Quevedo as it deserves to be introduced: not simply as another historic Port house, but as an independent producer helping the category find new drinkers, new serves and new occasions.

a family name on the bottle

The Quevedo family’s story among the vines began in 1889, when Abel Gouveia Costa planted the family’s first vineyard in Valongo dos Azeites. The land, knowledge and commitment passed from one generation to the next, strengthening the family’s connection to the Douro.

By the end of the 1970s, Óscar and Beatriz Quevedo had settled in São João da Pesqueira and begun laying the foundations for the winery that followed. Quevedo was officially established in 1993, allowing the family to bottle Port from its own vineyards under its own name.

Today, fifth-generation siblings Cláudia and Óscar Quevedo lead the business. Cláudia is the winemaker, responsible for translating the family’s vineyards and harvests into the bottle. Óscar takes the wines into the world, sharing their story with the same warmth and personality that define the producer.

One looks after what goes into the bottle.

The other makes sure people hear about it.

Together, they keep Quevedo independent, family run and unmistakably Douro.

rooted in
the DOURO

The Douro is an extraordinary place to make wine—and rarely an easy one.

Vineyards rise along steep slopes above the river, rooted in schist soils and exposed to long, hot summers. Cultivating them demands patience, experience and a close understanding of how altitude, aspect and climate shape the fruit.

Quevedo works with vineyards across several properties in the region, giving Cláudia access to different varieties, elevations and growing conditions. This diversity helps create the balance at the heart of the house style: ripe, generous fruit supported by freshness, structure and restraint.

The family combines its inherited knowledge of the region with a forward-looking approach to viticulture and winemaking. Tradition provides the foundation, but it is never treated as something fixed or untouchable.

The result is Port with an unmistakable sense of place, made by people who understand where the category has come from and have clear ideas about where it can go next.

MADE FOR THE MODERN BAR

Seven botanicals complete the blend: turmeric, angelica, juniper, lemon, orange, coriander and liquorice. Together, they create a balanced profile of classic juniper, bright citrus and gentle spice, complemented by delicate floral notes and subtle sweetness.

Bottled at 44.8% ABV, the gin has enough character and structure to hold its own in a mixed drink while retaining the finesse needed to pair beautifully with Champagne. It can be served simply with a premium tonic and lemon, but its natural home is the French 75—a serve that brings the entire Gatsby story together in one glass.
