Sibona Grappa Riserva in Botti da Rum

HK$0.00

PIEDMONTESE GRAPPA MEETS CARIBBEAN SOUL — AND THE RESULT IS UNLIKE ANYTHING ELSE IN THE CATEGORY.

Sibona's Riserva in Botti da Rum begins its life in traditional oak, then moves into casks formerly used by some of the Caribbean's most prestigious rum distilleries. The result is grappa that retains its Piedmontese character while taking on something entirely unexpected — tropical warmth, molasses depth and spice that have no right to work this well together. They do. Completely.

The approach is the same experimental thinking that defines everything Sibona does — take a classic Italian distillate, introduce it to a cask with a story, and see what happens when tradition meets something it has never encountered before. What happens, in this case, is exceptional.

Tasting Notes

Deep amber with golden highlights. The nose opens with ripe fruit, vanilla and warm baking spice, with subtle tropical notes and a whisper of molasses from the rum cask. On the palate, soft and generous — coffee, vanilla, rum-influenced sweetness and fresh fruit layered over the clean Moscato base. The finish is long and multifaceted, with spice, fruit and a warmth that lingers well past the last sip.

Producer: Distilleria Sibona
Expression: Riserva in Botti da Rum
Country: Italy
Region: Piedmont
Raw material: Pomace (marc)
Production method: Copper pot still distillation
Ageing: Aged in oak barrels, finished in ex-rum casks
Colour: Deep amber with golden highlights
ABV: 44%
Bottle size: 500ml

Perfect Serve

Serve at room temperature, ideally 16–18°C, in a tulip-shaped grappa or nosing glass. The rum-cask warmth and spice open beautifully with a moment to breathe — no ice, no chilling. Give it time and it gives back considerably.

Food Pairing

The rum-cask richness and tropical warmth make this a natural close to any serious meal — and an interesting foil for the right food.

Dark chocolate with sea salt

Chocolate fondant or lava cake

Banana and caramel desserts

Rum-soaked panettone or fruit cake

Crème brûlée

Strong aged cheeses

Espresso or affogato

The vanilla and coffee notes echo and amplify the bitterness of dark chocolate. Caramel-led desserts play directly to the cask influence. Aged hard cheese cuts through the warmth and holds its own.

Storage

Store upright in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat. Replace the cap firmly after opening. Grappa does not continue to develop in bottle but will maintain its quality for several years when stored correctly.

Dietary and Allergen Information

No added sugar.
No artificial colouring.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Gluten-free.
Contains sulphites (from the pomace).
Always check the product label before consumption, as ingredients, allergens and product information may change.
