Sibona Grappa Riserva in Botti da Porto

HK$0.00

WHERE PIEDMONT MEETS THE DOURO. FOUR YEARS IN WOOD AND A FINISH THAT REFUSES TO LEAVE.

Port barrels are responsible for some of the world's most celebrated spirits — but Sibona had a different idea. Taking their Nebbiolo marc grappa and finishing it in vintage Port casks from some of Portugal's most prestigious wineries, they created something that sits beautifully at the intersection of two great European traditions. The results, by their own account, were exceptional. Tasting it, that's easy to believe.

Distilled in copper pot stills from fresh Nebbiolo marc, the spirit rests first in stainless steel, then in medium-capacity oak barrels, before spending over 24 months in Port casks — four years in wood in total. Those barrels had previously held whisky before their Port tenure, giving this grappa three layers of wood history in every bottle.

Tasting Notes

Amber. The nose is delicate and particular — soft vanilla, quietly confident. The palate is full and elegant, rich and refined, with a persistent aftertaste of ripe forest fruits that simply won't let go.

Food Pairing

The Port barrel influence gives this grappa a warm, fruited richness that pairs with equal confidence alongside sweet and savoury.

  • Mature hard cheeses — aged Parmigiano, Pecorino Stagionato, a good Comté

  • Rich fruit-based desserts — tarts, poached pears, figs in syrup

  • Sweets built around caramel, toffee or dried fruit

  • A well-made cigar — the persistent, fruited finish makes this a natural companion
