SLYRS Single Malt Whisky Mountain Edition 45%

HK$0.00

BOURBON VANILLA, CARAMEL AND TOASTED ALMONDS. INTENSE, SPICY AND SLIGHTLY SMOKY.

Whisky reaches new heights in Bavaria.

SLYRS Single Malt Whisky Mountain Edition is matured for five years in a high-altitude warehouse on the summit of the Stümpfling mountain, 1,501 metres above sea level. Here, pure Alpine air and dramatic seasonal temperature changes help shape a distinctive and intensely flavoured single malt.

Temperature fluctuations of up to 60°C influence the whisky’s interaction with the wood throughout its maturation. The result combines rich sweetness with dry spice, balancing bourbon vanilla, caramel and toasted almonds against peppery warmth, ripe fruit and restrained smoke.

Full-bodied, characterful and unmistakably influenced by its mountain environment, this is Bavarian single malt taken to another level.

Quite literally.

Tasting notes

Light golden yellow in colour, with a bright and polished appearance.

Bourbon vanilla, caramel and toasted almonds lead the aroma, followed by sweet ripe fruit and a subtle trace of smoke.

Intense and full-bodied on the palate, with rich malt, dry pepper and pronounced warming spice. Caramel and vanilla provide balance before a long finish of ripe fruit, toasted nuts and gentle smoke.

Perfect serve

Serve neat at room temperature in a whisky tasting glass, allowing the aromas of bourbon vanilla, caramel and toasted almonds to open gradually.

A few drops of still water may soften the whisky’s peppery intensity and reveal more of its sweet fruit and subtle smoke. Avoid excessive chilling, which may suppress its aromatic character.

Food pairing

The whisky’s combination of caramel sweetness, toasted nuts, peppery spice and subtle smoke makes it particularly well suited to roasted meats, mature cheeses and rich desserts.

Serve with:

  • Roast pork with crisp crackling

  • Smoked duck breast

  • Chargrilled steak

  • Venison with a dark fruit sauce

  • Smoked sausages

  • Aged Alpine cheese

  • Toasted almonds and walnuts

  • Apple strudel

  • Almond tart

  • Dark chocolate with sea salt

Its peppery intensity and light smoke complement roasted and chargrilled flavours, while caramel and ripe fruit provide balance alongside pork, duck and venison.

Toasted almonds and vanilla also make it a natural partner for nut-based pastries, spiced apple desserts and dark chocolate.
