Weinrieder Grüner Veltliner Ried Schneiderberg 2024
VINEYARD PEACH, QUINCE AND GREEN PEPPER. DENSE SINGLE-VINEYARD GRÜNER VELTLINER WITH BRIGHT ACIDITY AND A VERY BROAD VIEW OF DINNER.
Some wines pair with a particular dish.
This one appears to have reviewed the entire menu.
Weinrieder Grüner Veltliner Ried Schneiderberg 2024 comes from a southwest-facing vineyard close to woodland. The site’s cooler ripening conditions help preserve fine fruit and lively acidity, while soils of loess, sand, gravel and pebbles contribute structure and mineral character.
The grapes are rigorously selected by hand, carefully destemmed and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to retain the wine’s clean fruit character, followed by a period resting on the lees.
Vineyard peach, apple, nectarine, quince and apricot form a bright, aromatic core. Fine herbal spice, lime, green pepper and restrained minerality bring definition to the fruit.
The palate is fresh, dense and elegantly structured, with balanced acidity and a long, persistent finish. (weinrieder.at)
Classic Grüner Veltliner.
With considerably more than the minimum required
Tasting notes
Bright yellow-green with silver reflections.
Vineyard peach, white apple, nectarine, quince and apricot lead the nose, accompanied by fine herbs and a touch of cardamom.
The palate is juicy and fresh, with lime, green pepper and subtle minerality. Lively acidity supports a balanced, complex texture before white stone fruit returns on the long finish.
