Weinrieder Grüner Veltliner Alte Reben 2022

HK$0.00

RIPE YELLOW APPLE, APRICOT AND HERBAL SPICE. A POWERFUL OLD-VINE VELTLINER WITH MINERALITY, FINE ACIDITY AND TIME ON ITS SIDE.

Old vines are not in a hurry.

Neither is the wine they produce.

Weinrieder Grüner Veltliner Alte Reben 2022 comes from vines around 70 years old, rooted deeply in loess, clay and sand. Their naturally small yields produce concentrated fruit with the power, structure and ageing potential required for the estate’s Alte Reben bottling.

The grapes were rigorously selected by hand, gently pressed and fermented in stainless steel. A late harvest and extended maturation on the fine lees add texture and complexity without disguising the character of the fruit.

Ripe yellow apple and apricot meet smoky herbs, orange zest and subtle tobacco. Fine acidity brings definition, while delicate nutty spice continues through the persistent finish.

A mature approach to Grüner Veltliner.

The vines have certainly had time to consider it.

Tasting notes

Ripe yellow apple, apricot and orange zest lead the nose, accompanied by smoky herbs and subtle tobacco.

The palate is powerful but refined, with fine acidity, mineral character and delicate nutty spice. Generous fruit and an elegant structure carry the wine into a long, balanced finish.
