Chardonnay does not always require a barrel.
Occasionally, it simply requires a very good vineyard.
Weinrieder Chardonnay Ried Bockgärten 2024 is a single-vineyard Austrian Chardonnay fermented and matured entirely in stainless steel. This preserves the purity of its fruit while allowing the character of Ried Bockgärten to remain firmly in view.
The south-facing vineyard has water-retentive loess and loam soils, helping the grapes maintain freshness and fine acidity as they ripen. Selective hand harvesting and gentle handling in the cellar add precision without unnecessary intervention.
White peach, quince and exotic fruit lead the wine, accompanied by forest honey and subtle hazelnut. The palate is finely structured and well balanced, with clean acidity carrying the fruit towards an elegant finish.
Chardonnay without the carpentry.
Clear and bright in appearance.
White peach, forest honey and hazelnut shape the nose, followed by quince and restrained exotic fruit.
The palate is fresh, finely textured and balanced, with clean acidity and a precise, elegant finish.
