Lergenmüller Philipp L Reserve Cuvée Trocken 2019
CASSIS, RIPE CHERRY AND SAVOURY SPICE. COMPLEX PFALZ RED CUVÉE WITH VEGETAL NUANCES, FIRM STRUCTURE AND A POWERFUL, BALANCED FINISH.
A red wine shaped by the winemaker’s vision.
Lergenmüller Philipp L Reserve Cuvée Trocken 2019 brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Dornfelder and St. Laurent in a carefully composed blend. Each variety contributes a distinct element, creating a wine with fruit, spice, structure and savoury complexity.
Cassis and ripe cherry form the aromatic core, accompanied by vegetal nuances and warming spice. Cabernet Sauvignon provides structure and dark-fruit character, Dornfelder contributes colour and generous fruit, while St. Laurent adds aromatic depth and refinement.
At 14.5% ABV, the palate is concentrated and powerful, yet its components remain harmonious and well balanced. Decanting allows the aromas to expand and the structure to soften, revealing the full complexity of this mature Pfalz red.
A personal expression of the winemaker’s style.
The signature is in the blend rather than on the page.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red with dark garnet reflections.
Concentrated aromas of cassis and ripe cherry lead the nose, followed by savoury vegetal notes, dark berries and layered spice.
Full-bodied and structured on the palate, with concentrated fruit, balanced acidity and a notably dry character. Decanting reveals greater aromatic complexity and a smoother, persistent finish.

Patience is useful here.
Fortunately, the decanter handles most of it.
Food pairing
Its dark fruit, savoury complexity and firm structure make this red cuvée particularly suitable for roasted meat, game and richly flavoured dishes.
Serve with:
Grilled ribeye steak
Braised beef
Roast venison
Wild-boar casserole
Slow-cooked lamb
Duck with cassis sauce
Beef short ribs
Mushroom and lentil ragù
Truffle pasta
Smoked aubergine
Mature hard cheeses
The wine’s cassis and cherry fruit complement red meat and game, while its spice and vegetal nuances work well with mushrooms, herbs, roasted vegetables and deeply savoury sauces.
