Lergenmüller Gutswein Cabernet Sauvignon Trocken

HK$0.00

DARK BERRY FRUIT, GREEN PEPPER AND A COOL LIFT OF EUCALYPTUS. MATURED IN STEEL AND WOOD, WITH VANILLA, DARK CHOCOLATE AND A DRY, STRUCTURED FINISH.

Cabernet with its sleeves rolled up.

Lergenmüller Gutswein Cabernet Sauvignon Trocken begins with generous berry fruit, given a distinctly savoury edge by green pepper and a subtle breath of eucalyptus.

Maturation in stainless steel preserves that fresh, energetic character. Time in wood then brings another dimension, introducing softer notes of vanilla and dark chocolate alongside a more rounded, mature feel.

Dry, structured and quietly confident, this is Cabernet Sauvignon without unnecessary ceremony—although it certainly knows how to behave at the dinner table.

Tasting notes

Deep ruby red with a youthful, concentrated appearance.

Ripe berry aromas lead the nose, followed by green pepper and a refreshing touch of eucalyptus.

The palate combines fresh fruit with darker notes of vanilla and chocolate. Balanced acidity and measured tannins provide structure, leading into a dry, savoury finish.

Producer: Weingut Lergenmüller
Country: Germany
Region: Pfalz
Winery location: Hainfeld
Range: Gutswein

Wine type: Dry red wine
Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon

Perfect serve

Serve at 14–16°C in a generous red-wine glass.

Opening the bottle around 20 minutes before serving will give the berry fruit space to develop and allow its eucalyptus, vanilla and chocolate notes to become more expressive.

Particularly welcome when the evenings begin to draw in and dinner calls for something with a little more backbone.

Food pairing

Cabernet Sauvignon’s dark fruit, savoury character and firm structure make it a natural partner for roasted meat, earthy vegetables and mature cheeses.

Serve with:

  • Herb-crusted rack of lamb

  • Roast beef with red-wine gravy

  • Pork tenderloin with mushrooms

  • Venison casserole

  • Steak and peppercorn sauce

  • Lentil and roasted-mushroom pie

  • Charred aubergine with smoky tomato

  • Aged Gouda or mature Cheddar

The green-pepper character works particularly well with herbs and roasted vegetables, while the berry fruit and chocolate notes complement deeply browned meat and rich sauces.

This is not a wine for hovering beside the appetisers.

Give it a proper plate.
