Weihenstephaner Tradition Bayrisch Dunkel
A CLASSIC DARK BAVARIAN LAGER WITH ROASTED MALT, GENTLE CARAMEL, RED FRUIT AND A BALANCED BITTER FINISH.
Weihenstephaner Tradition Bayrisch Dunkel is a traditional dark Bavarian lager from the Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan, the world’s oldest brewery, where beer has officially been brewed since 1040.
Dark amber to reddish brown in colour, it pours with a compact, eggshell-white head of foam. Inviting roasted-malt aromas introduce its rich character, accompanied by gentle caramel and subtle red-fruit notes.
The palate is full-bodied and highly drinkable, balancing mild malt sweetness with roasted flavours and measured hop bitterness. Smooth caramel and fruit lead into a clean, pleasantly bitter finish, creating a distinctive yet approachable Bavarian Dunkel.
Tasting notes
Roasted malt, caramel and subtle red fruit shape the aroma. The full-bodied palate combines mild sweetness with toasted grain and smooth dark malt before a balanced bitterness emerges on the finish.
